31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 25

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 25

“You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the LORD your God is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 16:18–20)

“God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: ‘How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.’ ” (Ps. 82:1–3)

The Judicial branch of the government is what and who we pray for today to experience spiritual revival. In the USA this is called the Justice system, or the Courts of Justice, and the Judges who sit on those Courts, especially the Supreme Court. Every country has its own system of courts to mete out justice. These men and women wield great power and they need to live at the highest levels of integrity and honesty, with significantly above average levels of intelligence and knowledge of the law.

Pray

O Lord God, Supreme Judge and Ruler of all, I pray for every judge at every level of the court across my nation, and the world. May each one know You, Your saving work, and righteously fear You as they honor You and carry out their duties. Give them true knowledge of their responsibility to uphold the law and give judgments to all which are equal to the case they hear, regardless of who the plaintiffs and defendants are, embracing the principles and truths in Your Word. Protect them from the assaults of the evil one and his minions. Deliver them from temptation to please people and not You; to take the easiest way instead of the right and best way; to seek their comfort or convenience and not Your righteousness. May You help them know and remember that their decisions do matter in the perspective of eternity. Bring revival to the heart, mind, and will of every judge, for Your glory and honor, and for the benefit of all. In Jesus’ Name I pray. Amen.
