Spiritual Communion (said by all)

O Most blessed Savior,
in union with the faithful at every altar of Your Church

join us in person or via Zoom. We get great instruction from Dr. Baruch Korman, 
a messianic rabbi, and we discuss it afterward.  
The Men’s Breakfast is meeting on Thursday at 7:30 a.m. in the Conference Room
and via Zoom.  
All other in-person activities of The Solid Rock Church, unless otherwise notified, 
are postponed until further notice when the COVID-19 virus pandemic is under

What's with "Lent"???

This coming Sunday’s readings assigned through the Revised Common Lectionary will have us reading the first 17 verses of John chapter 3. That passage includes what is perhaps the most well known verse, John 3:16 which reads in the English Standard Version as “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (I do wish the publishers of the Bible would return to the practice of capitalizing the pronouns used to refer to God, in all references to any of the members of the Triune God.) So the important question becomes, “What does it mean to ‘believe’?” The word “believe” comes from a word that can (and perhaps should) be translated as “trust.” So the phrase containing the word “believe” in John 3:16 could read, “whoever trusts in Him…” Many, in my humble opinion, have an understanding of the word “believe” that is not very Biblical. The word “trust” in many if not most cases will likely convey the truth see

NEW STUDY & Sermon Series begins Sept. 1

The Bible and the U.S. Constitution [Click the video link to the right of this page for the latest upload in the series. Click the Sermon Archive link below the video image to see past teachings & sermons.] The Rev. Dr. John Nyhan will begin a five week series on Sept. 1, 2019 on the Biblical foundations of our U.S. Constitution. Fr. Nyhan has done extensive study on this topic and will share his insights on the historical foundation of this most important of documents. It will help us not only in living out our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but also some practical ways that our faith impacts the country as a whole. Fr. John will cover this in both Adult Education which begins at 9:00 a.m. and this topic will be further covered in his sermon at the 10:00 service. This series will be presented over the five Sundays of September. Come join us, be blessed and informed to be a better disciple of Jesus Christ, to the glory of God!
