31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 31

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 31 “We carry this precious Message around in the unadorned clay pots of our ordinary lives.” (2 Corinthians 4:7, The Message) Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14–16) “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in t

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 30

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 30 “In each heart’s imagination, / In the church’s adoration, / In the conscience of the nation, / Hallowed be thy name” (Timothy Rees, 1874–1929). “Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.”  (2 Corinthians 4:1) Pray : Dear Lord God, the world is in such great need of You, to be filled with Your Spirit; the family to place You in the center of family life; the Church to honor You, submit to You, follow You, worship You, teach Your Word; the political and law enforcement at every level to come to a deep understanding of their lead in living in honesty and utmost integrity and how that lead affects the people under them. I ask You, Father, send Your Holy Spirit in power on every family, every congregation, every politician and law enforcement officer. Lord, please send revival to this world for which Your Son died and rose again. Show me, Father, what I need to do, what I need to change in me, or allow You to ch

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 29

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 29 “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions,” (1 Timothy 2:1–2 ESV) This past week we have concentrated on our nation and the world at all levels of civil leadership, from the highest office of the nation to the local township leaders, as well as law enforcement. Now, let us recap in a summary prayer.  Pray : In the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit we lift up our prayer. We thank you for Your great desire to have men and women who love You, Lord God, in places and positions of authority in the communities and countries in which we live. We lift to you the President, Vice President, US Senators and Representatives, state Senators and Representatives, County Commissioners, City Council members and local law enforcement officers. So fill them with Your Spirit that they become more, much more, able to assess what directio

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 28

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 28 “Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval. For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong. Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience.” (Romans 13:3–5 CSB) “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions,” (1 Timothy 2:1–2 ESV) Today, before we summarize our week of praying for civil leadership, we focus on law enforcement personnel. Stories appear almost daily of the men and women of our state troopers, county sheriff deputies, municipal police officers being hurt or killed in the line of duty. Sometimes the stories are of those officers who egregiously abuse their power &

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 27

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 27 The mayors, city councils, county commissioners and school boards all need our intercessory support too. Do you know the names of those people in your area? They are very likely listed on a web page for your city and county.  Pray: Heavenly Father, I come to You today asking You to do a mighty thing in the lives of those who serve as mayors, on city councils, as county commissioners and those who sit on the school boards across our great land. Your Son grew up in a town with leaders that exercised the authority You gave them. Pour Your Holy Spirit upon our local leaders in power to bring true, heartfelt, deep revival to them if they claim to be followers of Jesus Christ. If they do not claim that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, that is their greatest need so I ask You to reveal to them their need of You, and help them to understand what they need to do to come into that holy relationship with You. Then, Father, help them all to fully understand wh

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 26

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 26 “A wise king winnows the wicked” (Proverbs 20:26) “Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future.” (Proverbs 19:20)  “there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad... But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer.” (Romans 13:1–4) Today we continue our prayer for revival progressing through the levels of government. We focus today on Governors and state legislatures. We know the previous prayers prayed for political leaders can apply at all levels of government, and perhaps some of those petitions should be used at all the levels of government. This prayer below was gleaned from the World Visi

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 25

31 Days of Prayer for Revival - Day 25 “You shall appoint judges and officers in all your towns that the LORD your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality, and you shall not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous. Justice, and only justice, you shall follow, that you may live and inherit the land that the LORD your God is giving you.” (Deuteronomy 16:18–20) “God has taken his place in the divine council; in the midst of the gods he holds judgment: ‘How long will you judge unjustly and show partiality to the wicked? Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.’ ” (Ps. 82:1–3) The Judicial branch of the government is what and who we pray for today to experience spiritual revival. In the USA this is called the Justice system, or the Courts of Justice, and th
