                                        of the Lord.
People:                 Peace in heaven and glory in the highest.
Celebrant:           Let us Pray.
Assist us mercifully with your help, O Lord God of our salvation, that we may enter with joy upon the contemplation of those mighty acts, whereby you have given us life and immortality; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

It is right to praise you, Almighty God, for the acts of love by which you have redeemed us through your Son Jesus Christ our Lord. On this day he entered the holy city of Jerusalem in triumph, and was proclaimed as King of Kings by those who spread their garments and branches of palm along his way. Let these branches be for us signs of his victory, and grant that we who bear them in his name may ever hail him as our King, and follow him in the way that leads to eternal life; who lives and reigns in glory with you and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever. Amen.
Celebrant            Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
People                  Hosanna in the highest.
(“Procession into the church”)

The Sermon
On Sundays and other Major Feasts there follows, all standing
The Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
      the Father, the Almighty,
      maker of heaven and earth,
      of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
      the only Son of God,
      eternally begotten of the Father,
      God from God, Light from Light,
      true God from true God,
      begotten, not made,
      of one Being with the Father.
      Through him all things were made.
      For us and for our salvation
            he came down from heaven:
      by the power of the Holy Spirit
            he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
            and was made man.
      For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
            he suffered death and was buried.
            On the third day he rose again
                  in accordance with the Scriptures;
            he ascended into heaven
                  and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
      He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
            and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
      who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
      With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified.
      He has spoken through the Prophets.
      We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
      We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
      We look for the resurrection of the dead,
            and the life of the world to come. Amen.
The Prayers of the People
Prayer is offered with intercession for
The Universal Church, its members, and its mission
The Nation and all in authority
The welfare of the world
The concerns of the local community
Those who suffer and those in any trouble
The departed (with commemoration of a saint when appropriate)
All other general intercessions/petitions/thanksgivings by all.
Then may be added
Lord Jesus Christ, you said to your disciples,
‘I am with you always’.
Be with me today, as I offer myself to you.
Hear my prayers for others and for myself,
and keep me in your care. Amen.
O God,
help me to trust you,
help me to know that you are with me,
help me to believe that nothing can separate me from your love revealed in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Lord, in these days of mercy,
make us quiet and prayerful;
in these days of challenge,
make us stronger in you;
in these days of emptiness,
take possession of us;
in these days of waiting,
open our hearts to the mystery of your cross.
(Angela Ashwin)
Celebrant concludes the Prayers with a concluding Collect Prayer.
Celebrant says
As our Savior has taught us, we now pray,
People and Celebrant
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
      hallowed be Thy Name,
      Thy kingdom come,
      Thy will be done,
            on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
      as we forgive those
            who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
      but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom,
      and the power,
      and the glory,
            for ever and ever. Amen.
Concluding Prayer.

(The General Thanksgiving from Morning Prayer, adapted)
Almighty God, Father of all mercies,
we Your children give You humble thanks
for all Your goodness and loving kindness
to us and to all whom You have made.
We bless You for our creation, preservation,
and all the blessings of this life;
but above all for Your immeasurable love
in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ;
for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory.
And, we pray, give us such an awareness of Your presence,
that as we lament our separation during this time of disease,
we may continually show forth Your praise,
not only with our lips, but in our lives,
by giving up our selves to your service,
and by walking before You
in holiness and righteousness all our days;
through Jesus Christ our Lord,
to Whom, with You and the Holy Spirit,
be honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
Benediction
