Liturgy of the Word

First Reading Exodus 12:1-14 (ESV)
1 The Lord said
to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, 2 “This month shall be for you the beginning
of months. It shall be the first month of the year for you. 3 Tell all the congregation of Israel that
on the tenth day of this month every man shall take a lamb according to
their fathers' houses, a lamb for a household. 4 And if the household is too small for a
lamb, then he and his nearest neighbor shall take according to the number of
persons; according to what each can eat you shall make your count for the
lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a
male a year old. You may take it from the sheep or from the goats, 6 and you shall keep it until
the fourteenth day of this month, when the whole assembly of the
congregation of Israel shall kill their lambs at twilight.
7 “Then they shall take some of the blood
and put it on the two doorposts and the lintel of the houses in which they
eat it. 8 They shall eat the flesh that night,
roasted on the fire; with unleavened bread and bitter herbs they shall eat
it. 9 Do not eat any of it raw or boiled in
water, but roasted, its head with its legs and its inner parts. 10 And you shall let none of it remain
until the morning; anything that remains until the morning you shall
burn. 11 In this manner you shall eat it:
with your belt fastened, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your
hand. And you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord's Passover. 12 For I will pass through the land of
Egypt that night, and I will strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt,
both man and beast; and on all the gods of Egypt I will execute
judgments: I am the Lord. 13 The blood shall be a sign for you, on the
houses where you are. And when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and no
plague will befall you to destroy you, when I strike the land of Egypt.
14 “This day shall be for you a memorial
day, and you shall keep it as a feast to the Lord; throughout your generations, as a statute
forever, you shall keep it as a feast.

Praise the Lord!
1 Sing to the Lord a new song,

Second Reading Romans 11:1-10 (ESV)
1I ask, then, has God rejected
his people? By no means! For I myself am an Israelite, a descendant of
Abraham, a member of the tribe of Benjamin. 2 God has not rejected his people whom
he foreknew. Do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he
appeals to God against Israel? 3 “Lord, they have killed your prophets,
they have demolished your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my
life.” 4 But what is God's reply to him? “I
have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to
Baal.” 5 So too at the present time there is a
remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on
the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.
7 What then? Israel failed to obtain
what it was seeking. The elect obtained it, but the rest were hardened, 8 as it is written,
“God gave them a spirit
of stupor,
eyes that would not see
and ears that would not hear,
down to this very day.”
9 And David says,
“Let their table become
a snare and a trap,
a stumbling block and a retribution for them;
10 let their eyes be darkened so that they
cannot see,
and bend their backs forever.”

Nicene Creed We respond to the Word of God read and
expounded by stating aloud an ancient form of confessing our belief.
We believe in one God, the Father, the
Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the
only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from
Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the
Father, Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came
down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the
Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius
Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in
accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the
right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the
dead, and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord,
the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father
and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic1 and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for

this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for

Therefore, heavenly Father, hear us as we
celebrate this covenant with joy, and await the coming of our Savior, Jesus
Christ. He died in our place, making a full atonement for the sins of the whole
world, the perfect sacrifice, once and for all. You accepted His offering by raising
Him from death, and granting Him great honor at Your right hand on high.

Spiritual Communion (said by all)

Most blessed Savior,
in union with the faithful at every altar of Your Church
where Your blessed Body and Blood are being offered to the Father,
I desire to offer You praise and thanksgiving,
I present to You my soul and body with the earnest wish that I may
always be united to You.
I believe that You are truly present in

And since I cannot now receive You sacramentally into my heart;

the chalice of
consecrated wine, please go to the right or left of Fr. Andy to receive the
wafer dipped in wine.

the Sacrament in both kinds, and then immediately deliver it to the people.

Prayer Meeting Via Zoom

Meeting! We need to pray for the Church, the nation, and the world! With our physical distancing needs, we can
still join together in prayer using this medium.
We’ll pray for one hour. If you can’t join in on this Zoom
call, but will commit to praying sometime during the week for 1 hour, please DO
LET ME KNOW what hour you will be praying.
You may access this Zoom meeting a bit before 7:00 p.m., but
we will start our prayer time promptly at 7:00 with just the most brief of
