Liturgy of the Word
Lighting of the Paschal Candle
Processional Hymn All stand. The people of God sang as they approached the Temple for worship. The procession helps us remember that coming into the presence of God is an extraordinarily special privilege.
Christ the Lord Is Risen Today!
Christ the Lord is ris’n today. Alleluia!
Sons of God and angels say: Alleluia!
Raise your joys and triumphs high. Alleluia!
Sing, ye heav’ns, and earth, reply: Alleluia!
Lives again our glorious King. Alleluia!
Where, O death, is now thy sting? Alleluia!
Dying one, He all doth save. Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!
Love’s redeeming work is done. Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won. Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise. Alleluia!
Christ has opened paradise. Alleluia!
Soar we now where Christ has led. Alleluia!
Foll’wing our exalted Head. Alleluia!
Made like Him, like Him we rise. Alleluia!
Ours the cross, the grave, the skies. Alleluia!

Prayer for Purity Said by all. We ask God to help us worship Him in truth in all of life.
Almighty God, to You all hearts are open, all desires known, and from You no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You and worthily magnify Your holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Gloria
Sung by all.
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship You, we give You thanks, we praise You for Your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father, Lord God, Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us; You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayers.
For You alone are the Holy One, You alone are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Collect Prayer of the Day Prayed by Celebrant. We “collect” our acclamations, corporately proclaim a truth about God and ask His help in living out that truth.
First Reading Acts 10:34-43  *
34 So Peter opened his mouth and said: “Truly I understand that God shows no partiality, 35 but in every nation anyone who fears him and does what is right is acceptable to him. 36 As for the word that he sent to Israel, preaching good news of peace through Jesus Christ (he is Lord of all), 37 you yourselves know what happened throughout all Judea, beginning from Galilee after the baptism that John proclaimed: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all that he did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They put him to death by hanging him on a tree, 40 but God raised him on the third day and made him to appear, 41 not to all the people but to us who had been chosen by God as witnesses, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one appointed by God to be judge of the living and the dead. 43 To him all the prophets bear witness that everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name.”
Reader: The word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.
Psalm 118:1-2, 14-24 (ESV)  *
Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Cont’d.

2 Let Israel say,
“His steadfast love endures forever.”
14  The Lord is my strength and my song;
he has become my salvation.
15  Glad songs of salvation
are in the tents of the righteous:
“The right hand of the Lord does valiantly,
16  the right hand of the Lord exalts,
the right hand of the Lord does valiantly!”
17  I shall not die, but I shall live,
and recount the deeds of the Lord.
18  The Lord has disciplined me severely,
but he has not given me over to death.
19  Open to me the gates of righteousness,
that I may enter through them
and give thanks to the Lord.
20  This is the gate of the Lord;
the righteous shall enter through it.
21  I thank you that you have answered me
and have become my salvation.
22  The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone.
23  This is the Lord’s doing;
it is marvelous in our eyes.
24  This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Second Reading Colossians 3:1-4 *
If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Reader: The word of the Lord.
People: Thanks be to God.
Sequence HymnHe Lives
I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today;
I know that He is living, Whatever men may say.
I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,
And just the time I need Him, He's always near.
Chorus
He lives! He lives! Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life's narrow way.
He lives! He lives! Salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?
He lives within my heart.
In all the world around me I see His loving care;
And tho' my heart grows weary, I never will despair
I know that He is leading thro’ all the stormy blast;
The day of His appearing will come at last. (
Chorus)
Rejoice, rejoice O Christian, lift up your voice and sing
Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ, the King!
The Hope of all who seek Him,
The Help of all who find,
None other is so loving, so good and kind. (
Chorus)

Gospel Reading Matthew 28:1-10  *
Reader: The Holy Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to John.
People: Glory to You, Lord Christ.
28 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men. But the angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and behold, he is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him. See, I have told you.” So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to tell his disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”
Reader: The Gospel of the Lord.
People: Praise to You, Lord Christ.

Prayers of the People - Form 3
The Bible teaches us to pray for ourselves and others in various conditions and functions. The Leader and People pray responsively in Form 3
Father, we pray for Your holy catholic Church;
That we all may be one.
Grant that every member of the Church may truly and humbly serve You;
That Your Name may be glorified by all people.
We pray for all bishops, priests, and deacons;
That they may be faithful ministers of Your Word and Sacraments.
We pray for all who govern and hold authority in the nations of the world;That there may be justice and peace on the earth.
Give us grace to do Your will in all that we undertake;
That our works may find favor in Your sight.
Have compassion on those who suffer from and grief or trouble;
That they may be delivered from their distress.
Give to the departed eternal rest;
Let light perpetual shine upon them.
We praise You for Your saints who have entered into joy;
May we also come to share in Your heavenly kingdom.
Let us pray for our own needs and those of others.
Include your personal intercessions & thanksgivings silently or aloud.
The Celebrant adds a concluding Collect prayer that “collects” the prayers in summary form.
Confession & Absolution We confess to God things done wrong, and things not done that should have been done.
Celebrant: Let us confess our sins against God and our neighbor.
Pause for silent confessing to God of anything that may be weighing upon you.
Minister and people:
Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against You in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved You with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us; that we may delight in Your will, and walk in Your ways, to the glory of Your Name. Amen.
Celebrant: Almighty God have mercy on you, forgive you all your sins through our Lord Jesus Christ, strengthen you in all goodness, and by the power of the Holy Spirit keep you in eternal life.

Liturgy of the Table - Holy Communion
Offertory Hymn We offer to God in thanksgiving for all He has done for us by giving
generously to the work of His church and towards the furthering of His Kingdom.
Because He Lives
God sent His Son - they called Him Jesus;
He came to love, heal and forgive.
He lived and died to buy my pardon;
An empty grave is there to prove My Savior lives.
Chorus
Because He lives I can face tomorrow;
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth the living Just because He lives.
How sweet to hold a new-born baby;
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days because He lives. (
Chorus)

And then one day I'll cross that river;
I'll fight life's final war with pain.
And then, as death gives way to vict'ry;
I'll see the lights of glory, and I'll know He reigns. (
Chorus)

Eucharistic Prayer B
Celebrant: The Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.

Celebrant: Lift up your hearts.
People: We lift them to the Lord.
Celebrant: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
Then the Celebrant proceeds:
It is right, and a good and joyful thing, always and everywhere to give thanks to You, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth.
Here a Proper Preface is said. Then the Celebrant continues
Therefore we praise You, joining our voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who forever say this hymn to proclaim the glory of Your Name:
Celebrant and People
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
The people stand or kneel.
Then the Celebrant continues
We give thanks to You, O God, for the goodness and love which You have made known to us in creation; in the calling of Israel to be Your people; in Your Word spoken through the prophets; and above all in the Word made flesh,
Jesus, Your Son. For in these last days You sent Him to be incarnate from the Virgin Mary, to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world. In Him, You have
delivered us from evil, and made us worthy to stand before You. In Him, You have brought us out of error into truth, out of sin into righteousness, out of death into life.
On the night before He died for us, our Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when He had given thanks to You, He broke it, and gave it to His disciples, and said, “Take, eat: This is my Body, which is given for you. Do this for the remembrance of Me.”
After supper He took the cup of wine; and when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of you: This is My Blood of the new
Covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins.
Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance of Me.”
Therefore, according to His command, O Father,
Celebrant and People
We remember His death,
We proclaim His resurrection,
We await His coming in glory;
The Celebrant continues
And we offer our sacrifice of praise, and thanksgiving to You, O Lord of all;
presenting to You, from Your creation, this bread and this wine.
We pray You, gracious God, to send Your Holy Spirit upon these gifts that they may be the Sacrament of the Body of Christ and His Blood of the new
Covenant. Unite us to Your Son in His Sacrifice, that we may be acceptable through Him, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. In the fullness of time, put all things in subjection under Your Christ, and bring us to that heavenly country where, with [NAME] and all Your saints, we may enter the everlasting heritage of Your sons and daughters; through Jesus Christ our Lord, the firstborn of all creation, the head of the Church, and the author of our salvation.
By Him, and with Him, and in Him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is Yours, Almighty Father, now and for ever. AMEN
And now, as our Savior Christ has taught us, we are bold to say,
People and Celebrant:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come,
T
hy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen
The Breaking of the Bread
The Celebrant breaks the consecrated Bread.
A period of silence is kept.
Celebrant: Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us;
People: Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia.
Celebrant: The Gifts of God for the People of God. Take them in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts by faith, with thanksgiving.
The ministers receive the Sacrament in both kinds, and then deliver it to the people.
The Bread and the Cup are administered with these or similar words
The Body of Christ, the bread of heaven. [Amen.]
The Blood of Christ, the cup of salvation. [Amen.]
Hymns & Songs may be sung by congregation while people receive Communion.
Amazing Grace
Amazing grace, how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see.
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear the hour I first believed!
Through many dangers, toils and snare, I have already come;
'Tis grace hath bro't me safe thus far, and grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be as long as life endures.
When we've been there ten thousand years, bright shining as the sun,
We've no less days to sing God's praise than when we’d first begun.
Words: John Newton; Public Domain
After Communion the Celebrant says
Let us pray.
Celebrant and People:
Almighty and everliving God, we thank You for feeding us with the spiritual food of the most precious Body and Blood of Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ; and for assuring us in these holy mysteries that we are living members of the Body of Your Son, and heirs of Your eternal kingdom. And now, Father, send us out to do the work You have given us to do, to love and serve You as faithful
witnesses of Christ our Lord. To Him, to You, and to the Holy Spirit, be honor and glory, now and for ever
. Amen.
The Bishop when present, or the Priest, may bless the people.

The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you, and remain with you always. Amen.

Closing Hymn
Victory In Jesus
I heard an old old story how a Savior came from glory
How He gave His life on Calvary to save a wretch like me
I heard about His groaning of His precious blood's atoning
Then I repented of my sins and won the victory (
Chorus)
Chorus
O victory in Jesus my Savior forever
He sought me and bought me with His redeeming blood
He loved me ere I knew Him and all my love is due Him
He plunged me to victory beneath the cleansing flood.
I heard about His healing of His cleansing pow'r revealing
How He made the lame to walk again and caused the blind to see
And then I cried dear Jesus come and heal my broken spirit
And somehow Jesus came and brought to me the victory (
Chorus)
I heard about a mansion He has built for me in glory
And I heard about the streets of gold beyond the crystal sea
About the angels singing and the old redemption story
And some sweet day I'll sing up there the song of victory (
Chorus)
