Opening Acclamation Call to worship, to
purposefully enter God’s nearer presence.
Celebrant: Blessed
be God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
People: And blessed be His kingdom, now and forever. Amen.
People: And blessed be His kingdom, now and forever. Amen.
Prayer for Purity Said by all. We ask God to help us worship
Him in truth in all of life.
Almighty God, to You all hearts are open,
all desires known, and from You no secrets are hid: Cleanse the thoughts of our
hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You
and worthily magnify Your holy Name; through Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Decalogue (Ten Commandments; Ex.
20:1-17)
Celebrant:
1And God spoke all these words, saying,
2I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the
land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 3You shall have no other
gods before me.
4You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any
likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath,
or that is in the water under the earth. 5You shall not bow down to
them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation
of those who hate me, 6 6but showing steadfast love to thousands
of those who love me and keep my commandments.
7You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in
vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
8Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9Six
days you shall labor, and do all your work, 10but the seventh day is
a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your
son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock,
or the sojourner who is within your gates. 11For in six days the Lord
made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the
seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
People:
Lord, have mercy on us, and write these laws in our hearts.
Celebrant:
12Honor your father and your mother, that your days may
be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.
13You shall not murder.
14You shall not commit adultery.
15You shall not steal.
16You shall not bear false witness against your
neighbor.
17You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall
not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or
his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.
People: Lord, have mercy on us, and write these
laws in our hearts.
Gloria
Sung by all.
Glory to God in the highest, and peace to
His people on earth.
Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship You, we give You thanks, we praise You for Your glory.
Lord God, heavenly King, almighty God and Father, we worship You, we give You thanks, we praise You for Your glory.
Lord Jesus Christ, only Son of the Father,
Lord God, Lamb of God, You take away the sin of the world: have mercy on us;
You are seated at the right hand of the Father: receive our prayers.
For You alone are the Holy One, You alone
are the Lord, You alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit,
in the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Celebrant: The
Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
People: And also with you.
Celebrant: Let us pray.
Collect Prayer of the
Day Prayed by Celebrant. We
“collect” our acclamations, corporately proclaim a truth about God and ask His
help in living out that truth.
First Reading Acts 2:1-21 (ESV)
1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all
together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a
sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house
where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire
appeared to them and rested on
each one of them. 4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other
tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews,
devout men from every nation under heaven. 6 And at this sound the multitude came
together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in
his own language. 7 And they
were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 And how is it that we hear, each of us in
his own native language? 9 Parthians and Medes and Elamites and
residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts
of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11 both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and
Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12 And all were amazed and perplexed, saying
to one another, “What does this mean?” 13 But others mocking said, “They are
filled with new wine.”
14 But Peter, standing with the eleven,
lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in
Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15 For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since
it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was uttered through the
prophet Joel:
17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God
declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the
Lord shall be saved.’
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servants and female servants

Psalm 104:24-34,35b (ESV)
24 O Lord,
how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
25 Here is the sea, great and wide,
which teems with creatures innumerable,
living things both small and great.
26 There go the ships,
and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.
27 These all look to you,
to give them their food in due season.
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up;
when you open your hand, they are filled with good things.
29 When you hide your face, they are dismayed;
when you take away their breath, they die
and return to their dust.
30 When you send forth your Spirit, they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.
to give them their food in due season.
28 When you give it to them, they gather it up;

29 When you hide your face, they are dismayed;
when you take away their breath, they die
and return to their dust.
30 When you send forth your Spirit, they are created,
and you renew the face of the ground.
31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever;
may the Lord rejoice in his works,
32 who looks on the earth and it trembles,
who touches the mountains and they smoke!
33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.
may the Lord rejoice in his works,
32 who looks on the earth and it trembles,

33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live;
I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
34 May my meditation be pleasing to him,
for I rejoice in the Lord.
35 Bless the Lord, O my soul!
Praise the Lord!

Second Reading 1 Corinthians 12:1-13 (ESV)
1
Now concerning spiritual
gifts, brothers,
I do not want you to be uninformed. 2 You know that when you were
pagans you were led astray to mute idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I want you to understand
that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!”
and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.
4 Now there are varieties of gifts,
but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of service,
but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but
it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 To each is given the manifestation of the
Spirit for the common good. 8 For to one is given through the Spirit the
utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge
according to the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit,
to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles,
to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between
spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the
interpretation of tongues. 11 All these are empowered by one and the
same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
12 For just as the body is one and has
many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one
body, so it is with Christ. 13 For in one Spirit we were all
baptized into one body—Jews or Greeks, slaves or free—and all were
made to drink of one Spirit.

Eucharistic Prayer B
Celebrant: The
Lord be with you.
People: And also with you.
People: And also with you.
Celebrant: Lift
up your hearts.
People: We lift them to the Lord.
People: We lift them to the Lord.
Celebrant: Let
us give thanks to the Lord our God.
People: It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
People: It is right to give Him thanks and praise.
Then the Celebrant
proceeds:
It is right, and a good and joyful thing,
always and everywhere to give thanks to You, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven
and earth.
Here a Proper Preface is
said. Then the Celebrant continues
Therefore we praise You, joining our
voices with Angels and Archangels and with all the company of heaven, who
forever sing this hymn to proclaim the glory of Your Name:
Celebrant and People
Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and
might,
heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
heaven and earth are full of Your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.
The people stand or
kneel.
Then the Celebrant
continues
We give thanks to You, O God, for the
goodness and love which You have made known to us in creation; in the calling
of Israel to be Your people; in Your Word spoken through the prophets; and
above all in the Word made flesh, Jesus, Your Son. For in these last days You sent Him to be incarnate from the
Virgin Mary, to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world. In Him, You have delivered
us from evil, and made us worthy to stand before You. In Him, You have brought
us out of error into truth, out of sin into righteousness, out of death into
life.
On the night before He died for us, our
Lord Jesus Christ took bread; and when He had given thanks to You, He broke it,
and gave it to His disciples, and said, “Take, eat: This is my Body, which is
given for you. Do this for the remembrance of Me.”
After supper He took the cup of wine; and
when He had given thanks, He gave it to them, and said, “Drink this, all of
you: This is My Blood of the new Covenant, which is shed for you and for many
for the forgiveness of sins. Whenever you drink it, do this for the remembrance
of Me.”
Therefore, according to His command, O
Father,
Celebrant and People
We remember His death,
We proclaim His resurrection,
We await His coming in glory;
We proclaim His resurrection,
We await His coming in glory;
The Celebrant continues
And we offer our sacrifice of praise, and
thanksgiving to You, O Lord of all; presenting to You, from Your creation, this
bread and this wine.
We pray You, gracious God, to send Your
Holy Spirit upon these gifts that they may be the Sacrament of the Body of
Christ and His Blood of the new Covenant. Unite us to Your Son in His
Sacrifice, that we may be acceptable through Him, being sanctified by the Holy
Spirit. In the fullness of time, put all things in subjection under Your
Christ, and bring us to that heavenly country where, with all Your saints, we
may enter the everlasting heritage of Your sons and daughters; through Jesus
Christ our Lord, the firstborn of all creation, the head of the Church, and the
author of our salvation.
By Him, and with Him, and in Him, in the
unity of the Holy Spirit all honor and glory is Yours, Almighty Father, now and
for ever. AMEN.
